Kevin Wilson is an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Los Angeles Lakers. Prior to joining the Lakers, he was an Athletic Performance Coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder and their G-League affiliate Oklahoma City Blue, who won the 2023-2024 NBA G-League Championship. Kevin was named G-League Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year for the 2023-2024 season by the NBSCA.
Academically, Kevin has a doctorate degree in physical therapy (DPT), a masters degree in physical therapy from Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland), a bachelors degree in Kinesiology from Brock University (Canada), and a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Fleming College (Canada). He played on the varsity basketball teams at Brock University & Fleming College.
Before joining the OKC Thunder, Kevin spent time in the private sector and also worked as a Performance Therapist and Strength Coach in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Prior to that, he worked as a student physical therapist in the British Basketball League and with Basketball Scotland where he travelled with Scotland’s national team in preparation for the FIBA European Championships. Kevin also worked as a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for two seasons in the National Basketball League of Canada.
Kevin is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program at McMaster University (Canada) and is a UK certified Sports Massage Therapist. He holds the performance enhancement specialist (PES) certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Kevin currently lives in California with his wife Audry and daughter Ariah. He is the founder of the National Basketball Youth Mentorship Program (NBYMP), which is a Canadian non-profit organization.
